Finishing our foreshortening....

Once again our Outreach group met on Saturday and they completed their work begun the previous week - once again a lesson researched by my art teacher friend.  I am learning so much - this is a NEW journey for me too!  Last week they drew a picture of themselves falling through space using pastels and wax crayon, and this week they completed the project by pasting the figure onto black paper.  They were then told to draw anything that they could think they would find in space, from stars to rockets, to aliens.  As you can see, they stuck to stars, attempting to draw as many as they could fit on their papers.  They also all decided to draw a moon in the top left corner....! After a cup of hot tea and some peanut butter sandwiches we put up our pics and said our goodbyes until the next time...I was particularly proud of the young boy who arrived for the first time, worked quietly and diligently, finishing his project in just one session!

This is rich, rewarding work - we meet just for the sake of Joy...
