Joyful Simplicity

There is a richness that is incomparable to worldly wealth.  Such moments are fleeting breaths of sheer joy, offerings from a Saviour who loves us unconditionally and pours His blessings upon us.  These moments of beauty can be discovered in the simple pleasures of walking through a dew-filled field in the early morning, seeing the mist roll dartingly and gracefully in, or finding the first pink blossom on the peach tree in Spring, or stroking a purring, velvet furred cat, or maybe the glimpse of the cranberry red stable door through the spikes of lavender flowers in full bloom, hearing the bleating of sheep from across the valley, or the quiet, greeting low of my dear Daisy cow when she sees me in the morning...

I think, too, of the time when I went out to the lavender shed in the early evening, and chanced (? I think not...) to look up, seeing the first evening star - the only star in the sky at that time.

These are images that are personal treasures, stored up in the heart, and made all the more poignant by the belief that that vision was there at that specific time and place due to the direct planning of an Almighty God, yet a personal friend.

What an incredible Father we have.  So many blessings to be thankful for.
