Good clean fun!

The December break is upon us, and so we ran the first of our herbal workshops for children - soapcrafting with herbs.  Hence the title "Good clean fun!".  We were fully booked and the children had a wonderful time choosing the fragrances and the dried lavender and rose petals, star anise and poppy seed, loofah bits - all which went into creating a truly unique soap.  After a short break of juice, homemade lemonade and biscuits, I took them on a tour of our little farm, before setting them to work on creating their origami gift boxes to house their little soaps.  I was amazed at howquickly some children caught on and, after completing the lid of the box, went on to complete the bottom box with no further instruction!  It was also great to have Mrs M helping me - I don't know what I would have done without her.

I do love working with children - they are so creative and freely offer their ideas.  What better way to spend a morning than in their company, knowing that they will go away having learned a new skill.  Children are indeed a blessing from the Lord.  Now it is time to prepare for our next workshop - fragrant lavender angels - to hang on the Christmas tree!
