Beautiful Beetroot!

The day broke with sunshine creeping over the horizon - after a few days of heavy rain which filled our new (secondhand!) water tank three-quarters full, heralding the new spring season - a welcome sight!  I had not really had a chance to get into the garden, and was surprised by my shiny new green courgettes glistening in the sun and the purple beets that had pushed their shouders out of the rich damp soil.  It was time to harvest!  They looked so beautiful in the basket that I  just had to take a photograph.  God gives us so much beauty in simple things.  We often tend to overlook the seemingly little things in life - like a basket of homegrown beets, still muddy from the earth.  I am reminded to find the sacred in the ordinary...
